Overview
Legacy SmartOffice Data Mapping & Migration Plan is a Salesforce migration solution designed to preserve household relationships, historical advisor activity, and client interaction history when moving from SmartOffice into Salesforce. The accelerator provides a structured approach for mapping legacy data, maintaining record relationships, converting historical notes into Salesforce activities, and preparing data for import into a modern CRM platform.
Business Problem
Organizations moving from legacy advisory platforms often need more than contact and account data migrated. Historical notes, activities, household relationships, and advisor interactions contain important business context that users expect to see after go-live. Without a structured migration approach, that information can be lost, duplicated, or disconnected from the records it belongs to.
How It Works
The accelerator uses a defined data mapping and migration process to analyze legacy exports, identify relationship structures, and prepare records for Salesforce. Household and Contact data are mapped into a Salesforce-compatible model while preserving relationships through legacy identifier mapping. Historical notes can be transformed into Salesforce Tasks or Activity Timeline records, allowing users to access prior interactions directly within Salesforce. The approach also includes cleansing rules that remove irrelevant records and normalize source data before import.
Where This Fits
This accelerator is suited to CRM modernization projects where historical relationship data, advisor notes, activities, and household structures must be retained during migration. It can be used for SmartOffice migrations as well as other legacy CRM platforms where preserving business context is as important as migrating account and contact data.
