Overview

Automated Client Billing Reports & PDF Delivery is a Salesforce reporting and communication solution that generates and distributes recurring client billing reports directly from Salesforce. The accelerator replaces reliance on third-party reporting tools by combining scheduled automation, PDF generation, recipient management, and activity tracking within a single native Salesforce process. Each report is generated for a specific Project and delivered automatically to designated client contacts while maintaining a historical record within Salesforce.

Organizations frequently rely on external reporting tools, manual exports, or spreadsheet-driven processes to communicate project activity and billable work to clients. These approaches increase administration effort, create maintenance overhead, and can make report visibility difficult to manage across teams. This accelerator provides a repeatable and centralized process for delivering billing information to clients while keeping reporting activity, documents, and communication history inside Salesforce.

How It Works

The solution uses scheduled Salesforce automation to generate billing reports for eligible Projects on a recurring basis. Projects are included in the reporting process through a dedicated reporting flag, and report recipients are maintained through related recipient records linked to project contacts. A PDF report is generated summarizing recent billing activity, including hours worked, amounts billed, and billing categories. The generated document is attached to an outbound email, delivered to the appropriate recipients, stored in Salesforce Files, and logged to the Project Activity Timeline for future reference. Historical reports remain accessible directly from the Project record
